Twin Transformation – It Needs a Change of Narrative

The EU’s new eco-design rules aren’t just compliance headaches — they’re catalysts for circular innovation, brand leadership, and future-proof business.

You can’t master the Twin Transformation without forging a few beautiful friendships first…

I had the honor and true pleasure of being invited as a keynote speaker -feeding in some thoughts and ideas from the Cambridge University’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) Alumni Network in Munich together with the wonderful Birgit Berthold-Kremser at the Metafinanz Sustainable IT Accelerator Summit.

Our focus? Twin Transformation – the convergence of digital and sustainable transformation – and why it’s high time we build new friendships and rethink the narrative.

Here are just a few teaser takeaways from the keynote (don’t hesitate to reach out in case you want to double click on the full story):
• Digitalisation alone isn’t enough – we need sustainability baked in, not bolted on.
• IT is no longer just an enabler – it’s a driver for transformation with impact.
• Narratives matter – they shape what we build, and how we build it.
• Silos are out – value emerges where tech, sustainability, and human insight intersect.

The event itself? A blast of inspiration. Thought-provoking sessions, constructive (sometimes spicy!) discussions, and an incredible openness across all participants, including sessions and contributions from rightº based on science, Philoneos, mhp, envite, Allianz, BMW, many more and of course metafinanz itself!

Huge kudos to the Metafinanz team, for putting together such an insightful and well-curated day. Thank you again for the invitation, the platform – and the great company throughout the day.
